Gassman Studio began with a single question, how do you build a digital home for an artist whose work refuses to stay still?
Garrett Gassman is a contemporary artist whose practice spans photography, mixed-media painting, and exhibition. The work is intimate, precise, and deeply personal. What it needed was a digital architecture that could hold all of it without collapsing under the weight of a growing body of work something functional enough to serve as a true directory, and considered enough to honor the art it houses.
The design was built for longevity. Not a portfolio frozen in a moment, but a living system capable of expanding as collections grow, exhibitions evolve, and the practice moves into new territory. Every structural decision was made with the next five years in mind, not just the next launch.
The logo is where the identity becomes undeniable. Rather than impose a typeface onto Gassman's name, we turned to the source Garrett's own handwriting, the same hand that creates the work itself. The result is a mark that carries authorship in its form. The iconic double G with a strikethrough completes the identity. A signature Gassman has used to authenticate his work throughout his entire career, from early photography to current collections. To place it at the center of the brand system was to make the artist's mark inseparable from the artist's presence.
The first major activation for the studio was a promotional campaign for Gassman's exhibition with Barnes International Realty the first collection produced under the new identity. The visual system developed for that campaign established the tone for everything that follows.
Precise. Personal. Built to last.
COMING SOON.
